Parkrun in Street

Hi local Club/local parkrun

We have some exciting news for the local running community.  I am writing to all local clubs and parkruns.

As you may be aware Street parkrun in Somerset starts this coming Saturday.

The core team, Land owners and funders have invested a lot of time and effort into bringing the event to fruition.

UK wide, Inaugural parkruns have become a phenomenon and this is great but numbers can swell to over 600 when the core team is at its most inexperienced and volunteers pool at its smallest.  Inaugural seekers will come from all over the UK.  In addition, funders and Land owners may be present to watch.

We would kindly request you ask your club members not to run the first event but celebrate Street parkrun at the second event on 12th May. If your club members/parkrunners are very keen to be present at the first event, please can they help by volunteering. They need to register at, if they have not already done so, and email

Code Club Needs You!

Code Club Needs You!

Would you like to help run a code club?

Come to our meeting!

Where? Street Library

Date?   Wednesday 21st March

Time?   4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Code Club is a nationwide network of volunteers and educators who run free coding clubs for children and young people. We are part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a charity which works to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world.

Our meetups are fun, friendly and informal gatherings for teachers, community leaders, volunteers and anyone interested in finding out more about what we do.

If you are already running or hosting a club then come along and say hello; this is a chance to meet people involved in other clubs so we can share resources and help each other.

Or if you’d like to get involved in running a Code Club then come along and find out more.

Our coordinator for the area will be on hand to answer any questions you have about starting or running a club.

There will be snacks and drinks too!

If you have any questions in advance of the event, please get in touch via or @CodeClubSW on Twitter.
