I have lived in Street all of my life, but with my husband I have travelled around the world to many interesting places.
I see this as an opportunity to put something back into the community that I love.
I have two grown up children, who are both married and I also have two grandchildren who I am very proud of and they all live in Street. So I hope to help make it a safe and happy place to live. I am retired, so have the time to give.
I have worked in Clarks, at Millfield School, in retail and have been joint owner with my husband of our own business in the High St. I spent ten and a half years working for Social Services with adults with learning disabilities and managed housing for the elderly for “Mendip Housing” before I retired.
So I feel I have a lot of life experience to put into my role as a Parish Councillor. I am currently on the Staffing committee, Policy and Finance committee, Play areas working group, Culture group, Christmas Cracker group and chair of Merriman Park fun day working group. I am the council’s representative on Cox’s charity and the Tourist information board. I also chair the Merriman Park Community group, where councillors work with local residents to improve facilities in the park.
Out of everything I do, Merriman Park is my passion. I am determined that in the next few years we will achieve a transformation and return it to ita former glory.
