Having moved to Street with a work move my partner and I settled in Street in 2012 and then retired here three years later. Having been the third generation of my family to join the RAF I got used to traveling, this is now the longest time we have lived anywhere. I did an apprenticeship in the RAF and learnt how to repair aircraft electronic system. First on the Lightning Interceptor and then on the VC10 transport.. I quit the RAF after the Falkland war and continued in Aircraft Technical management for Honeywell Aerospace. I moved around with Honeywell initially visiting airlines across Europe, Africa and the Middle East and the based in Singapore visit airlines in the Far East. I then moved back into leading a site initially in Toulouse, France and then back in Basingstoke. I then moved to Phoenix USA and worked on various projects prior to coming back to the UK and leading a group of project managers across Europe I also moved to Lausanne in Switzerland. I then took the site leader job in Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil. We have two sons who are based in Worcester and Cornwall and two grand children. My main goal post retirement is to work to make the place I live the best it can be.
